The Course in Detail

This 12-hour course is perfect for anyone starting out with AutoCAD across any industry discipline. No prior CAD experience is required.

Learn through step-by-step, tutor-led demonstrations followed by guided, practical exercises throughout.

By the end of the course, you should be able to:

  • Navigate the AutoCAD interface and use core productivity tools.
  • Create accurate 2D geometry using lines, arcs, polylines and snaps.
  • Control drawing organisation with layers, properties and line types.
  • Modify geometry using selection methods and edit commands.
  • Use precision tools such as Object Snaps, Tracking, Polar and Dynamic Input.
  • Annotate drawings with text, dimensions and multileaders.
  • Manage layouts, scale views and plot to PDF using plot styles.
  • Save safely using backups and template features.

Entry Requirements & Progression

What You'll Need

Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows. No prior CAD experience required. We will be using CETC computer room and PCs. Therefore, attendees do not need to bring anything. However, should they wish to use their own laptop, they can bring it in provided they have the software installed already. This is the must requirement. We won’t be providing any license to use software.
